For rain gutter maintenance you need to inspect and clear the
rain gutters in both autumn and spring. You also may have to clear all the dirt
that has blown away into the rain gutters and try scrubbing them with a firm brush.
Flushing the rain gutters with a fast stream of water from a hose will wash
away material that has become occupied the eaves downspouts and troughs.
The sliding sight of the rain gutters may needs to be changed
from time to time to keep water flowing toward downspouts. Make sure you run
water through them, and, if you observe they drain slowly, change the position
of them, so that they slope toward the downspouts at a rate of 1/4 inch for
every next 10 feet.
Make sure that your downspouts discharge water with the
right flow away from your house. If necessary, add extenders to downspout for carrying
the water away. Also consider plastic or concrete splash blocks, which are
slightly inclined and extend away nearly 4 feet from the house.

If your climate is full of rainfall, you may consider having
your downspouts run into a well which is dry. The well should be a space of 2
to 4 feet wide and 3 feet deep, with both ends filled and removed with rocks
that you’ve punctured and buried with holes. Underground pipes of drainage should
slope to the dry well, which will efficaciously keep water away from the
foundation of the home. Check the codes of local building before installing.
Also survey the downspouts for flaking, rust or peeling paint,
plus leaks, and make confirm they are supplemented tightly against the boards. Rain gutters maintenance is thus very
crucial if you want to maintain your rain gutters.
